Infrastructure

             The present college building is divided into two parts. North Block consists of three-storied academic building and South Block having a three-storied old building and a two-storied new building and also three-storied UGC Building attached to three-storied old building.  Among other infrastructural facilities it has a new library with a reading room and two separate common rooms for boys and girls. The college has grown by leaps and bounds in last five years. The renovation of the college started with creation of a new Office, Library.  The entire college including the Principal’s Office Chamber, the Teachers’ Lounge, the Library and the Classrooms is now renovated.  All these would help create a positive environment in the college to develop the potentials of all concerned.

Central  Library

 

                          Central Library is one of the vital and proactive organs of the college. It has a collection of more than 14,885 books, subscribes to 07 journals and a few dailies. The library has grown over years utilizing financial assistance of the University Grants Commission and personal contributions of the former and the present teachers. The library offers its reading materials for the use of all its members, six days in a week and six hours (except Saturday) in a day. The process of computerization of the library has also started. The library remains closed on all Sundays and scheduled holidays.

Computerization

 

                          Computerization leads to speed, accuracy, standardization and easy retrieval of information at the click of a mouse.  The thrust of computerization can be found in areas like the College Office where four computers are installed and interconnected through LAN for administrative purpose.  A computer is also installed at the Teachers’ Lounge exclusively for the use of the teachers and another at the Principal’s room.  One computer is installed at the Central Library with an eye to Library automation.  Physics Laboratory and Commerce Computer Laboratory is equipped with computer and students can make use of it for learning purpose.

                          Recently, the college has established a Computer Laboratory with four computers for students of commerce discipline of the college for whom computer training has been made mandatory by the University of Calcutta.

Common Rooms

 

                          Two common rooms are earmarked for the male and the female students respectively.  Here arrangements for indoor games like carom, chess are provided with and the students can make use of them in their leisure periods.

Audio - Video  Facilities

 

                          An Overhead Projector is available which the teachers use as and when needed.  Audio-Visual method of teaching by way of showing dramas and novels and data materials, is followed by related departments.
